Although there are major changes in XMapTools 4, the format of input files will remain nearly identical. You can check in the list below for more detailed explanations on the file format and potential changes.
- Map files – Identical file format.
- File Standards.txt – The file structure is identical. In XMapTools 4, both oxides and elements can be listed in the second bloc. The X and Y coordinates must be listed at the end and in this order. The last two entries are ignored by XMapTools 4 while scanning for the element name. Therefore yttrium (Y) can now be distinguished from the Y coordinate.
- File Classification.txt – This file is not used by XMapTools 4, but it is still generated by the converter program.
