This issue affects XMapTools 4 if the process is killed while saving the configuration file.
Symptoms
A crash of XMapTools 4 can cause serious problems with an internal configuration file. In this case, XMapTools would no longer open (while the process remains active in Task Manager). Deleting / reinstalling the program does not solve the problem.
Solution
- Uninstall XMapTools
- On WINDOWS, navigate to C:\UserName\AppData\Local\Temp\UserName\mcrCache9.9\ and eliminate manually the folder XMapTo1 and any other folder with similar name (e.g. 2, 3, etc.). If you cannot find AppData, select “hidden items” in the folder options.
- Install XMapTools normally
